Growing up, we were told that carrots were good for our eyes and could help us see in the dark. But the benefits of this root vegetable go far beyond that. Raw carrots are loaded with beta carotenes, fiber, potassium, and antioxidants, which can aid in weight loss, lower cholesterol levels, improve eye health, and even play a role in cancer prevention and management.

Here are some of the health benefits of eating raw carrots every day:

They can help with cancer prevention, liver function and weight loss, constipation, better skin and hair, diabetes management, improved vision, maintaining blood pressure, and better immunity. They also have several micronutrients that help with vital functions of the human body. All we need to do is add it to your daily regime.

However, anything extreme is not good.  Carrots can be toxic and lead to carotenemia where the skin turns orange. Consuming one glass of carrot juice a day or having a couple of raw carrots with meals works well for most people. Carrots should be therefore cooked with the right quality of clean ingredients and consumed in the correct quantity.

Incorporate raw carrots into your daily diet to reap the benefits of this nutrient-rich vegetable.
